QRC

Queer Roots Collective

Queer Roots Collective is a regenerative grassroots group based in Manchester that is shifting the focus of pride to community rather than capitalist corporations. We work to build and celebrate queer community through our regular events, as well as our Alternative Pride Festival in September.

What we do

QRC aims to contribute to a regenerative community network across greater Manchester and beyond, by facilitating spaces for queer joy, connection, growing and sharing food, creativity, play and learning. QRC will always promote radical care of one another and the environment of which we are a part.

We are a grassroots alternative to the corporatisation of pride events, maintaining the recognition that pride was and is a protest.

We were established to serve an underrepresented part of the queer community; those who feel safest in outdoor, quieter, more community focused spaces where authentic connections can be made and explored.

We do this by producing high quality events, workshops, and spaces that are as safe and accessible as reasonably possible with people within the collective and with other organisations that align with our ethos. We will always emphasise safer spaces, nature connection, community care, and wellbeing throughout.
